Interactive MediaMinor: Computer Science Bradley University 2010
Hi, my name is Daniel Pfeiffer and I have a burning passion for Christ and for media. I consider myself an "interactive developer," specializing in web, mobile, and other interactive platforms. I graduated from Bradley University receiving a Bachelor of Science in Interactive Media with a concentration on development; I also have a minor in computer science. Currently, I work for The Iona Group in Morton, IL designing, developing, and delivering innovative, high quality multimedia solutions as well as serving as a liaison between the design and development teams. My heart's desire is to glorify God through innovations in media and pushing the limits of the technology I use.
I specialize in Web technologies. I speak fluent CSS, PHP, SQL, WordPress, Drupal, etc. I can swing JavaScript around like nobody’s business (using my favorite JavaScript library, jQuery, of course; I’ve done some stuff in MooTools, but I don’t love it yet). I find the way people interact with the Web to be intensely fascinating and am all about sculpting a better user experience through better design.
Due to the recent explosion of smart phones (namely the iPhone and Android-powered devices), I've grown very interested in mobile development. With mobile devices out-numbering the number of toothbrushes in the world, I can't imagine a better way to target users than to target their mobile devices.
Even though writing code is where I feel at home, I do enjoy vacations from time to time to time-based media (video and motion graphics). I enjoy a good story and love to tell one. My hope is to one day help write, produce, and direct at least a short film. If you want the low-down on everything I do, I suggest you check out my résumé. If you want to see what I’m especially good at and interested in, skip the résumé and go straight to the portfolio.
Last, but most important: why I do what I do. As much as I love to see “cool” stuff, I know that it’s all temporary and really not worth living for. I live for Christ. I believe that God created the world and desires to know me personally, but because of my selfish desires to live life my way, that relationship was destroyed. But God wasn’t giving up on me: He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to die and rise again to break the power of sin and restore my relationship with Him. I can’t think of anything more worth living for. That’s the “short” version — if you want to know more, please drop me a note.
